chakde india

Chak De India is the story of a coach's fight of making his team, Team India by overcoming their diverse backgrounds, by learning to use everything that life hurls on them as a secret weapon. It's a story about honesty, sincerity and integrity. A story to remind the nation of its National sport. The entire movie revolves around the Indian Hockey Team of girls and their coach Kabir Khan.Kabir Khan was once the hero of Indian Hockey. He was the best center forward in the world. He was the hero of the nation. But nothing stays for ever and he had a tragic end. But now he has decided to make a last comeback to the game he once loved, to wipe away his stigmatized past and prove his point to every one.He has decided to take the challenge of doing the impossible. He has taken up the task of making a bunch of loser girls in to a team which can win the World Cup.But what he doesn't know is that it is not a very easy task.Because everyone in the team has his own agendas and problems.Preeti Sabarwal(Position: Center Forward,Jersey Number: 9) is from Chandigarh. She went to the best public schools, and was on her way to the U.S..But her life took a sudden turn towards the Punjab University and its hockey team. She became the Chandigarh captain. This Princess looking girl plays like the Terminator. She is close only to her iPod. Probably thats the reason why most of her rural team-mates call her mem. But none knows that she has a secret.Komal Chautala (Position: Right In, Jersey Number: 8) is from Haryana. This Rohtak Express, is also most commonly known as "chhokra" in her village because of her tom boyishness. She is also known as the "chhipkali" in the field for her dribbling. She has only one regret -that she wasn't born a boy. She never uses make-up.Bindia Naik (Position: Center Half, Jersey Number: 5) is from Maharashtra. She is a veteran of field positions, federation politics and award manipulations. This experienced player is very efficient in playing dirty team politics.Vidya Sharma (Position: Goalie & Captain, Jersey Number: 18) is from Madhya Pradesh. She got married recently and it appears as if she will have to divorce hockey. She knows very well that this is probably her last tournament. But the real question is- can she really give up hockey for marriage?Balbir Kaur (Position: Left Defender, Jersey Number: 3) is from Punjab. She is better known as tataiya, bhootni, rakshas and ghatotkach on any given day depending upon what she has done lately. Everyone in the team is scared of her temper. She is fearless, and brainless, but she is also the team's main hope against the giant Australian girls and the ruthless Argentinean zagalonas. She is the girl with a heart of gold, in a body of steel.Aliya Bose (Position: Right Out, Jersey Number: 7) is from West Bengal. Sexy bong beauty In her spare time she also plays hockey. But she loves more to play with guys and is extremely good at it.But unfortunately, she is equally good at playing Hockey too and so year after year, team managers and coaches have tolerated her.Gunjan Lakhani (Position: Right Half Jersey, Number: 4) is from Andhra Pradesh This Hyderabadi girl has seen it all, and knows exactly when to shut her eyes. Her experience of playing with her seniors Bindia and Aliya has taught her that there are bigger games off the field than on it. And as a smart player she knows how to stay out to stay in.Rani Dispotta (Position: Right Defender, Jersey Number: 2)is from Jharkhand. She still remembers the time she moved from her village to Ranchi Sports School. She is an expert on handling the city-breds, or manhandling them if required. She knows enough Hindi to offend anyone and enough English to defend herself, particularly in the field.Soimoi Kerketa (Position: Substitute, Jersey Number: 17) is also from Jharkhand. Her journey from "Jharkhand Grameen Adivasi Balika Kalyan Kendra Vidyalaya" to New Delhi was quite steep. She is not very comfortable with the metropolitan culture and its ways and gets perplexed very often. But she knows one thing very well and that is Hockey.Nethra Reddy (Position: Left Out, Jersey Number: 11) is from Andhra Pradesh. The grounds-man's little daughter who grew up in stadiums among players and dreamt of being one herself. This girl has only one dream and that is to make her dad proud and she is not very far away from her ambitions.Gul Iqbal (Position: Left In, Jersey Number: 10) is from Uttar Pradesh. She is the grand daughter of Hockey legend Mohammad Iqbal. Her family's history is Indian Hockey's history. And nobody ever lets her forget that. But none had ever tried to know what this girl wants herself.Molly Zimik (Position: Left Half ,Jersey Number: 6 ) is from Manipur and Mary Ralte (Position: Substitute, Jersey Number: 15) is from Mizoram. Both of them make a talented duo from North East. Their school books taught them that they are Indians but Indians taught them otherwise. Is it really possible to make this bunch of girls with so much difference amongst them play for their nation as an united team? The only reason they play for the National team is that it is the only National team they can play for. They have all forgotten the sharp thrill of just holding the hockey stick, keeping their eyes on the ball and playing for all they are worth. They have played every game but hockey to make sure they get selected every year in the Indian National team. But what does it really mean to play for the Indian National team? To play for India? The girls have never known the thrilling energy of being Team India. Of giving their all to see their country's name on a trophy. But their coach Kabir Khan knows what it's like to come back from the dead. The ex Indian Captain has now come back in the avatar of the Coach of the Indian Women's National Hockey team. Kabir Khan, knows very well what it takes to get there and what it means to return empty handed. But this time, he wants to make sure that it's different. He knows there are no second chances. In spite of his stigmatized past, he believes that once the girl learns to play as a team nothing was impossible.Because he believes that it is not that we don't have the potential to win rather it's just that we have never believed that we can win. He puts the bunch of girls through rigorous training sessions to get the best out of them. To make them believe that they are playing because they want glory for their country not because they want a pensioned job or a government flat. He is all set to regain his lost pride by making the women Hockey Team win in the World Cup in Australia. The film is based on the real life of the former Indian hockey goalkeeper Mir Ranjan Negi. Will Kabir be able to mould this bunch of girls in to Team India? Would it be possible for the girls to forget their personal differences and play as a single team? Will they be able to play as a sungle team and win the World Cup? What was Kabir Khan's past and was he able to wipe the stigmas from his past? Find the answers to these and lots more in the movie " Chak De India".
